Palm Jebel Ali is an ambitious artificial archipelago project in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, designed to expand the city’s coastline and provide a unique residential and commercial environment. The development is structured in the shape of a palm tree, featuring a trunk, 17 fronds, and a surrounding crescent, similar to its predecessor, Palm Jumeirah.
The “B” Frond is one of the 17 fronds extending from the trunk of Palm Jebel Ali. Each frond is planned to host a series of luxury villas and residences, offering waterfront living with private beaches and exclusive amenities. The design aims to provide residents with a serene and upscale lifestyle, complemented by the stunning views of the Arabian Gulf.
Palm Jebel Ali is designed to be 50% larger than Palm Jumeirah and is proposed to include six marinas, a water theme park, a ‘Sea Village’, homes built on stilts above the water, and boardwalks that circle the fronds of the palm. These boardwalks are intended to spell out an Arabic poem by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Construction of Palm Jebel Ali began in October 2002 but was put on hold following the 2008 global financial crisis. The project was relaunched in 2024, with completion now anticipated in 2028.
